Check reviews for AI-generated text
Paste a single product, app, restaurant or service review into the detector above, or check a whole batch at once: paste reviews separated by blank lines, or upload a CSV export from your store, review platform or support tool. Each review gets its own AI probability, and the results download as a CSV you can sort and filter.
No current AI content detector (including Sapling's) should be used as a standalone check to determine whether text is AI-generated or written by a human. False positives and false negatives will occur.
- Most reviews are short, and short texts give less reliable scores. Reviews under about 150 characters are marked low confidence; reviews under 40 characters aren't scored.
- A high score means the wording looks machine-generated, not that the review is fake. People do use AI tools to polish an honest review, and a human can write a fake one.
- Combine the score with other signals, such as account age, purchase verification and posting patterns, before removing a review or penalizing a reviewer.
Screen reviews at scale
Marketplaces, app stores and review platforms can run the same model through the AI Detector API. A batch request scores up to 10 reviews in one call, and each result has the same overall score and per-sentence predictions as a single check, so you can flag reviews for moderation as they arrive.
Frequently asked questions
How do I check if a review was written by AI?
Paste the review into the detector on this page. To check many reviews, paste them separated by blank lines or upload a CSV file, and the tool scores each one. You get an AI probability for every review and can download the results as a CSV.
Does a high AI score mean a review is fake?
No. The score estimates whether the wording was generated by an AI model. A genuine customer may have used AI to write up a real experience, and a fake review can be written by hand. Use the score to decide which reviews to look at more closely.
How accurate is AI detection on short reviews?
Less accurate than on long text. With only a sentence or two there is little signal to score, so reviews under about 150 characters are marked low confidence and reviews under 40 characters aren't scored. Longer, detailed reviews give the most reliable results.
Can I screen reviews automatically on my platform?
Yes. The AI Detector API accepts single texts or batches of up to 10 and returns a structured JSON score for each. Contact us to discuss volume pricing for moderation workloads.
