Get it everywhere you write
Use the AI detector extension to check selected text. For grammar suggestions and writing assistance, install the Sapling writing extension.
Check a PDF or DOCX for AI-generated text
- Choose a PDF with selectable text, or a Word .docx document. The file is uploaded to Sapling for analysis.
- Review the extracted text and overall score. Layout, images, and tables may not retain their original reading order.
- Check the coverage notice. Free checks cover up to 2,000 characters; Pro and Enterprise support up to 100,000 per check. Split longer documents into sections.
- Use the result to guide a human review. A score alone does not establish who wrote a document.
Why didn't my document produce a result?
Image-only scans need OCR before uploading. Password-protected or damaged files may not extract correctly. If extraction fails, copy the selectable text into the editor above. Short passages provide less evidence; aim for at least 50 words.
Review multiple documents
The account dashboard supports document batches and detection history. For an automated workflow, use the AI detection API. API usage is billed separately from Pro subscriptions.
