- Google introduced Bard in March 2023 and renamed the product Gemini in February 2024. The Gemini family combines text, image, audio, video, code, and tool-use capabilities across the Gemini app, Gemini API, Vertex AI, and Google's productivity products. Gemini 3.1 Pro arrived in February 2026, followed by the faster Gemini 3.5 generation at Google I/O 2026.
